sustainable swimwear from Azura Bay
I refer people to Azura Bay all the time for their glorious selection of ethical lingerie, but this is my first time trying one of their swimsuits. The Lulu Palm Print Strappy One-Piece is so much fun to wear; I can't wait till the weather warms up enough to actually swim in it!
Strappy front detailing spices up the traditional one-piece design, and the halter top back allows for flexibility within the fit. I'm absolutely in love with the palm pattern that was designed for this suit, the muted tones are perfect!
See that cute striped towel I'm sitting on? That's another item from Azura Bay! They offer the Wayfarer Stripe Beach Blanket as the perfect companion to any of their sustainable swimsuits. The reason I especially love this towel is because it doubles as a chic oversized scarf or shawl! I'm all about items that can be used more than one way.
The swimsuit is sold by Azura Bay and made by a really cool brand called Underprotection. They use recycled polyester to create their swimsuits which means the fabric is created from plastic bottles etc. that would otherwise have ended up in a landfill. The item comes to life in a fair trade factory in New Delhi, India! You can find information about Underprotection's sustainability and production practices on their website!
If you're looking for a one-piece that will stand out this season, I definitely suggest giving this one a try! It looks adorable with jeans over it for a stroll along the beach, and you could wrap the striped beach blanket around your shoulders as a shawl if it gets chilly. I'm so glad that one-pieces are being reimagined in sassy styles like this!
- Cost: $110 USD / $149 CAD
- Made: designed in Denmark and made under fair trade standards in India
- Where to Buy: online only
- Notes: I am 5'8" with a very long torso and wearing a size large. The medium fit as well, but I just felt more comfortable with the length of the large.
Who should buy this: Ladies 5'10" and under on the hunt for a cute one-piece will adore this suit!
Who shouldn't buy this: If you're over 5'10" and long waisted, I don't think this suit would fit well.
