my new favorite t-shirt
Now that I've adopted a simplified wardrobe, I'm admittedly outrageously picky about bringing new items into my closet. I live in fear of excess. Hanger space is reserved for the best of the best, and this shirt by Krochet Kids has definitely earned it's place.
Before I tell you why I'm so obsessed with the shirt, you should know why I'm equally as obsessed with Krochet Kids as a brand. First of all, they aren't your typical apparel company; they're a non-profit that provides jobs, education and mentorship for women in Uganda and Peru.
These guys are the real deal. You can see their model of empowerment and the impact of their efforts on their website. They enable you to send a thank you directly to the woman who made your piece of clothing.
My shirt was made by Evangelina Alvarez. I was able to see her picture, read her story and send a thank you to her for the hard work she put into this piece.
How cool is that?!
Krochet Kids takes the empowerment of their employees seriously and it shows in every aspect of their work.
Now let me tell you why I love this particular shirt so much. Finding the perfect t-shirt is like finding gold. This shirt is incredibly soft, loose without being boxy, and has a cutout in the back that makes it breathable and unique.
I'm seeing more and more cutouts on shirts these days, but often they're so low that you can't wear a bra with the shirt. BIG PROBLEMO. This shirt has just the right amount of skin showing!
While it's perfect for summer, layering a jacket or cardigan transitions it smoothly into cooler weather.
I plan to wear this top all season long!
Stay wild, friends ;)
