our day in seattle: animaná sweater + love41 tote

My handsome hubs and I swung by Seattle on our way home from a family wedding this weekend. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day. I kicked off the morning sipping matcha at Mr. West Cafe Bar with a new blogger friend, then handsome hubs and I meandered through Pike Place Market. We refrained from buying all the flowers (barely), but did stop by Storyville for some coffee and snacks before we hit the road back to Portland.

I was wearing some new pieces and they proved to be PERFECT for a long day darting around the city. This sweater and tote are recent additions but definite staples in my closet.

You may remember an interview I posted with the founder of Animaná a couple of weeks ago. Well, I received one of their sweaters and I am in love with it. This particular style is a hybrid between a poncho and traditional sweater; one side has a sleeve and the other is draped. It makes for a unique and flattering cut that is as comfy as they come.

Unfortunately, the style I'm wearing is no longer in stock, but they have a gorgeous cardigan and poncho that offer a similar look.

Any piece you purchase from Animaná is an investment; think of it as sustainable luxury. The price point is a little higher, but you're paying for the highest quality natural material. I think their sweaters would make a wonderful gift for a special occasion.

My most recent interview was with Suzette, founder of Love41. This is another brand that produces the highest quality products. My Simple Tote in black arrived the day before our little trip and the timing couldn't have been more perfect! I was able to carry around everything I needed (including our raincoats!) in one stylish bag. It's so sturdy in construction that I wasn't worried about overloading it.

Love41 bags come with an incredible 41 year warranty. Yeah you read that right... 41 years. That means I'll probably be passing this bag along to my granddaughter someday! Owning an heirloom piece like this definitely makes it worth the investment. I love the fact that I can use this bag my whole life instead of replacing a cheaply made tote every couple years.
